Shortlist

Chris is more than a TV gardener: a highly qualified horticulturalist he brings deep and special knowledge to all his work and began in 1999 as the expert on Surprise Gardeners for Carlton TV.

Since childhood Chris has immersed himself in a love of plants that has led to a lifelong career dedicated to horticulture. He studied horticulture at Pershore - where he also lectured - before managing the plant research and development division of one of the largest wholesale nurseries in the country and gaining an MA in Landscape Architecture from Cheltenham.

Fresh, dynamic, passionate and hugely creative, Chris is now one of the leading lights in the world of gardening and garden design.

His broadcasting experience spans 15 years and his more recent programmes include The Great British Garden Revival (BBC2), British Gardens in Time (BBC4), and coverage of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, for which he has been a member of the presenting team for over 13 years. He is also a long-standing panel member of BBC Radio 4's Gardeners' Question Time.

Chris is frequently asked to speak at conferences, events and awards ceremonies in the UK and internationally.
