Laurence is the award winning founder and CEO of Pavegen Systems - an innovative clean-technology company based in London. His technology instantly converts kinetic energy from footsteps into renewable off-grid electricity.
 
Graduating as a design engineer, with a 1st class honours in Industrial Design & Technology from Loughborough University, Laurence strongly believes that disruptive technologies are the best way to change people's attitudes to energy and reduce the reliance on fossil fuels and grid power.
 
As CEO and an active member of the Board at Pavegen, Laurence encourages a revolutionary approach to the renewable energy industry, whilst leading the Pavegen team both operationally and strategically. Pavegen have clients worldwide and have partnered with key brands such as; Schneider Electric, Centrica, Adidas, Uniqlo, London 2012 Olympics, WWF and Europe's largest shopping centre, Westfield.
 
Laurence generates significant international media interest with his charismatic nature, entrepreneurial savvy, and technical knowledge.  He has achieved extensive press coverage on BBC Television News, CNN, The Times, Wall Street Journal, USA today, Wired, & The National Geographic.
 
Pavegen has received numerous awards and accolades, including an Observer Ethical award, a 2012 World Technology award, and a UKTI British Export of the Year award.
 
Passionate about entrepreneurship and technology, Laurence is a regular speaker at various global events, including TED, the UN's +20 climate conference, Nerve, O2 campus party, the Stadium Business Design & Development Summit and he recently joined the Prime Minister on the latest trade mission to China where he spoke on a panel about innovation.
