Sindhu Vee is an award-winning comedian, writer and actor with an ever growing reputation.
As a critically acclaimed stand up comedian, Sindhu has twice appeared on BBC Two’s Live At The Apollo, most recently as host, and has appeared as a guest on all of the top British panel shows, including: Mock the Week (BBC Two), QI (BBC Two), Have I Got News For You (BBC One) and Would I Lie to You? (BBC One).
Sindhu has toured across the UK and performed stand up across the world, including at the invitation-only Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. In 2021, Sindhu recorded a Stand Up Special of her solo show Sadhog, which is now available to stream on Amazon Prime.
Sindhu can be seen as Mrs Phelps in the Netflix feature film adaptation of Matilda,starring alongside Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch and Stephen Graham. The feature film musical, based on Tim Minchin’s adaptation, was directed by Matthew Warchus and released in cinemas in the UK and Ireland in November 2022, and will be available to stream across the world on Netflix.
Sindhu also recently completed filming on Kristin Scott Thomas’ directorial debut feature filmMy Mother‘s Wedding, which stars Scarlett Johansson and Sienna Miller. Sindhu is currently shooting TV series The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh which is being produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios.
Other acting credits include: Starstruck (BBC/HBO Max), Sex Education (Netflix) and Feel Good (Channel4/Netflix).
In 2018 Sindhu wrote and hosted her own series, Sindhustan, on Radio 4. She returned to the station last summer with her new series, Things My Mother Never Told Me About Lockdown.
Sindhu also co-hosts the Child Labour podcast with Stuart Goldsmith for Radio X.
Sindhu also has a strong international fanbase. She has performed to sold-out houses in India, plus performed her stand up for NDTV’s Rising Stars of Comedy.
